# Exporting

> Download your charts as PNG, SVG, CSV, Excel, or JSON — with source attribution and watermarking

# Exporting Charts & Data

Export your visualizations and underlying data for use in presentations, reports, or further analysis. MACROVISONOMICS supports multiple image and data formats with automatic source attribution.

## Image Export

Download your chart as a high-quality image file with the MACROVISONOMICS watermark and source attribution included automatically.

### PNG Format

Best for:

* Presentations (PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote)
* Documents (Word, Google Docs)
* Social media sharing
* Web publishing and blog posts

**How to export:**

1. Open your chart
2. Click the **Download** button in the chart toolbar
3. Select **PNG Image**
4. The image saves to your downloads folder

PNG exports include the MACROVISONOMICS logo watermark and source attribution in the footer, ensuring proper credit when shared.

### SVG Format

Best for:

* High-quality print materials (reports, white papers)
* Scalable graphics that need to be resized
* Further editing in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Figma, Sketch)
* Vector-quality presentations

SVG files are vector-based, so they stay sharp at any size — from a thumbnail to a billboard.

**How to export:**

1. Open your chart
2. Click the **Download** button
3. Select **SVG Vector**
4. Open in any SVG-compatible application

## Data Export

Export the underlying data for further analysis in spreadsheets, statistical software, or custom applications.

### CSV Format

The most universal data format, compatible with virtually every spreadsheet and analysis tool.

| Country Code   | ISO 3-letter code (e.g., USA, GBR, CHN)      |
| Indicator      | Full indicator name                          |

| Year           | Data year                                    |
| Value          | The numeric value                            |
| Source         | Data source name (e.g., World Bank, FRED)    |

**How to export:**

1. Open your chart
2. Click the **Download** button
3. Select **CSV Data**
4. Open in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers, or any spreadsheet application

### Excel Format

For users who prefer native Excel files with formatting:

* Data is organized in a structured worksheet
* Column headers are formatted
* Source attribution is included in the footer
* Ready for pivot tables and further analysis

**Available on:** Pro, Gold, and Enterprise plans

### JSON Format

For developers and programmatic use:

* Structured JSON with metadata
* Includes indicator codes, country codes, and source information
* Ready for import into databases, APIs, or custom applications

**Available on:** Gold and Enterprise plans

## Data Table View

Before exporting, you can preview your data in table format:

1. Click the **Data** tab in the bottom panel of your chart view
2. View all data points in a sortable, filterable table
3. Verify the data before downloading
4. Sort by any column (country, year, value)

  Use the data table to spot-check values before exporting. This is especially useful when working with multiple countries over long time periods.

## Export Quality

### Image Resolution

### Chart Watermark

All exported images include the MACROVISONOMICS watermark with:

* Official logo in the corner
* Source attribution in the footer (e.g., "Source: World Bank | MACROVISONOMICS")
* Chart title and date range

Gold and Enterprise users can customize branding on exported charts.

### Data Completeness

Exported data files include:

* All countries in your chart
* All years in your selected date range
* Full indicator names and codes
* Source attribution for each data series
* Missing values clearly marked (empty cells, not zeros)

## Attribution

All exports include automatic source attribution. When sharing charts publicly, the watermark ensures viewers know the data source. For text references:

## Troubleshooting

    If exports fail:

    1. Try a different format (PNG instead of SVG, or vice versa)
    2. Reduce the chart complexity (fewer countries or shorter date range)
    3. Disable browser pop-up blockers
    4. Try a different browser (Chrome recommended)
    5. Clear your browser cache and try again

    PNG exports are rendered at 2x resolution for sharp display. If the image appears blurry:

    * Ensure you're viewing at 100% zoom
    * Try SVG format for infinite scalability
    * Check that your display scaling isn't reducing quality

  <Accordion title="CSV has missing values">
    Missing values in CSV exports reflect genuinely missing data from the source. Not all countries report all indicators for all years. These are left as empty cells (not filled with zeros) to maintain data integrity.
