MACROVISONOMICS provides intelligent insights and advanced features to help you understand economic data more deeply.
## AI-Generated Insights
Access AI-generated analysis through the **Insights Panel** on the Dashboard after creating your chart. The main dashboard tabs are organized as: **Chart** - **Data** - **Insights** - **Forecast**.
### Insights Panel Tabs
The Insights Panel contains six tabs for comprehensive analysis:

### Research-First Architecture
The insights system uses a research-first approach that gathers information from multiple sources simultaneously before generating analysis:
* **Current news and policy developments**: Real-time context on relevant economic events
* **Deep web sources**: Domain-specific articles and reports
* **Explanatory sources**: Grounded causal explanations with inline citations
* **Structured economic data**: US macroeconomic context across key indicators
* **Academic research**: Scholarly papers and studies for rigorous context
* **Primary source documents**: Direct documents from central banks, government statistics offices, and international organizations covering 20+ countries and 14 indicator categories
All sources are queried in parallel, and the combined research context is used to produce insights with inline citations. The system continues to work gracefully even when individual sources are unavailable.
During AI-powered search, the **Agent Processing Steps** visual indicator shows real-time progress through 5 stages: Understanding query → Searching indicators → Fetching data → Preparing visualization → Analyzing results. Detected entities (countries, indicators, chart type) are displayed as they are parsed, giving full visibility into the research-first pipeline.
### Automatic Analysis
When you create a chart and click "Generate" in the Insights tab, the system generates insights including:
Highlights the most important patterns and values in your data.
Identifies whether metrics are rising, falling, or stable over time.
Points out leaders, laggards, and notable gaps between countries.
Explains what the numbers mean in economic terms.
### Insight Components
Each analysis includes indicator names displayed in **bold** for easy identification:

### Dual-Axis Insights
When using dual-axis charts with indicators on both left and right Y-axes, the AI analysis includes:
* **Correlation analysis** between the two indicators
* **Relationship patterns** (e.g., trade balance from exports vs imports)
* **Divergence analysis** showing when and why indicators move differently
* **Country-specific comparisons** of how the relationship varies

For a GDP growth comparison chart, you might see:
> "In 2024, the United States leads with 2.79% GDP growth versus Canada at 1.56%.

## AI Forecasting Analysis
When you enable forecasting in your chart, you can generate AI-powered analysis of your forecast projections.
### Forecast Analysis Features
Compare projected growth rates across countries and indicators with percentage changes highlighted.
Identifies which countries show the strongest growth trajectories in your forecast period.
Analyzes stability ratings and volatility percentages for each forecast series.
Includes MLA-formatted citations from relevant economic research and reports.
### How to Generate Forecast Insights
1. **Enable Forecasting**: Toggle the forecasting switch in Chart Settings
2. **Go to Forecast Tab**: Click the "Forecast" tab in the main navigation
3. **Generate Analysis**: Click "Generate Analysis" to get AI-powered insights
### Example Forecast Analysis
For a multi-country export comparison, you might see:
> "This analysis covers forecasts for **Exports of goods and services** from 2024–2026
> for China and the United States. In current US$, **China is the top performer**,
> rising **+11.6%** from $3.71T (2024) to \$4.14T (2026), while the **United States**

### Research Sources
Each forecast analysis includes up to 6 MLA-formatted research sources from:
* International Monetary Fund (IMF)
* World Bank Reports
* Economic research publications
* News and analysis from trusted sources
Sources include proper citations with publication dates, URLs, and access dates for academic use.
## Markets Insights
The **Markets** and **Market Radar** pages include AI-powered analysis alongside live market data, using the same research-first pipeline as chart insights.
### Market Signals Analysis
For each major asset class (equities, commodities, currencies, and crypto), the AI evaluates:
* **Technical indicators**: momentum, trend strength, and price action signals
* **Sentiment**: broad market sentiment and positioning context
* **Macro context**: relevant economic factors influencing the asset class
* **Risk assessment**: key risks and catalysts to monitor
### ETF Insights
Sector and thematic ETF pages include AI-generated summaries covering:
* Recent performance relative to the broader market
* Sector flow trends and institutional positioning
* Macro tailwinds and headwinds for the sector
* Key holdings and their contribution to performance
### How to Access Markets Insights
Navigate to the [Markets](https://macrovisonomics.com/markets) page from the sidebar. The AI insights panel appears alongside the market data tables and charts. Click **Generate Insights** to request fresh analysis for any market view.
## Visualization Features
### Interactive Elements
Hover over any data point to see exact values, country names, and year.
On time-series charts, zoom into specific periods or pan across the timeline.
Click legend items to show/hide specific countries or series.
For snapshot charts like bubble plots, use the play button to animate through years.
### Year Selection
For snapshot charts (Bubble, Pie, Treemap, Choropleth):
* **Year Slider**: Drag to select any year in the data range
* **Play/Pause**: Animate through years automatically
* **Speed Control**: Adjust animation speed
### Data Table View
Switch to table view to see:
* All data points in rows and columns
* Sortable by any column
* Exportable to CSV
* Searchable within the table
## AI Analysis Agents
The Analysis tab provides specialized AI agents for deep data exploration:
Generates narrative explanations of your data patterns, trends, and what they mean in economic context.
Discovers relationships between indicators and countries in your data with strength ratings and explanations.
Identifies unusual patterns, outliers, and unexpected values with severity ratings and possible explanations.
Generates comprehensive research reports with sections, citations, and professional formatting.
## Conversation Memory
Agent chat supports **conversation memory** — you can have natural back-and-forth conversations with any AI agent. The system retains up to 20 turns of context per session, so you can ask follow-up questions, refine requests, and build on previous answers without repeating yourself. Sessions auto-clean after 1 hour of inactivity.
## Multi-Step Agent Orchestration
When you ask a complex question that spans multiple domains (e.g., "How does trade policy affect employment in G7 countries, and what are the forecasts?"), the platform automatically triggers a **multi-agent orchestration pipeline**:
1. An LLM planner analyzes your query and determines which agents to run and in what order
2. Agents execute sequentially, each passing its output as context to the next
3. The final result combines insights from all agents into a unified response
Simple, single-domain queries still use the fast direct path — orchestration only activates when needed. You'll see real-time progress in the UI showing which agent is running and the current step.
