# Markets Overview

The Markets page is your hub for live financial market data, sector analysis, ETF performance, and AI-generated market commentary. Access it at `/markets`.

## Accessing Markets

Navigate to **Markets** in the sidebar, or go directly to `/markets`.

## Overview

The Markets page aggregates live and near-live financial data across equities, sectors, ETFs, currencies, and commodities into a structured dashboard. It combines market data with the same AI research pipeline that powers economic chart insights, giving you both raw numbers and intelligent interpretation.

## Page Sections

### Market Summary

A top-level snapshot of key equity indices and risk indicators:

| Metric             | Description                                    |
| ------------------ | ---------------------------------------------- |
| **Major Indices**  | S\&P 500, NASDAQ, Dow Jones, Russell 2000, VIX |
| **Daily Change**   | Point and percentage moves from prior close    |
| **52-Week Range**  | Current level relative to annual high/low      |
| **Market Breadth** | Advance/decline ratio for context              |

### Sector Heatmap

A color-coded grid showing performance across the 11 GICS sectors for the current day, week, month, and year-to-date:

Green indicates positive performance; red indicates negative performance. Darker shades reflect larger moves.

  The sector heatmap is particularly useful for identifying rotation between risk-on (Technology, Consumer Discretionary) and defensive (Utilities, Consumer Staples) sectors — a key signal for macro regime analysis.

### ETF Flow Analysis

Tracks fund flows into and out of major sector and thematic ETFs, showing:

* **Net flows** (inflows vs outflows) for the current day and week
* **Top inflow** ETFs — where institutional money is moving toward
* **Top outflow** ETFs — where capital is being withdrawn
* **Thematic ETFs** — emerging themes (AI, clean energy, emerging markets)

### Currency & Commodity Snapshot

Quick-view panels for:

**Major FX Pairs:**

* EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, USD/CNY, AUD/USD

**Key Commodities:**
