Create your first economic data visualization in just a few minutes. MACROVISONOMICS turns a plain-English question into an interactive, publication-ready chart backed by 500,000+ indicators from 16+ international sources.Step 1: Start a Search
Navigate to the Dashboard and use the search bar at the top to find economic data.Search Modes
You can switch between three search modes using the toggle next to the search bar:| Mode | Description | Best For |

Step 2: Select Countries or Groups
After searching, a panel appears where you can select which countries to include in your visualization.Individual Countries
Click on country names to add them one at a time. You can add up to 40 countries in a single chart.Economic Blocs (Pro and above)

Regional and Income Groups
Alternatively, select by World Bank region or income classification:- Regions: East Asia & Pacific, Europe & Central Asia, Latin America & Caribbean, Middle East & North Africa, North America, South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa
- Income tiers: High Income, Upper Middle Income, Lower Middle Income, Low Income
Step 3: Choose Your Chart Type
Select the visualization that best communicates your data. The platform auto-suggests the most appropriate type based on your query, but you can override it.Line Chart
Best for trends over time. Shows trajectories and turning points clearly.
Bar Chart
Great for cross-country comparisons at a point in time, or stacked distributions.
World Map (Choropleth)
Shows geographic patterns — instantly reveals regional clusters and outliers.
Bubble Chart
Compare two indicators simultaneously with a third dimension for size.
Radar Chart
Multi-dimensional profiles ideal for country scoring and composite indices.
Treemap
Hierarchical size comparisons — great for GDP composition or trade shares.
Scatter Plot
Reveals correlations between two indicators across countries.
Heatmap
Country × time grids — perfect for spotting patterns across many countries.
Stacked Area
Tracks composition and total simultaneously over time.
Step 4: Customize Your Chart
Use the settings panel on the right side to refine the visualization:- Date Range: Set the start and end years. Historical data extends back 60+ years for many indicators.
- Colors: Choose from preset palettes or set custom country colors.
- Labels: Toggle country labels, data point markers, and value annotations.
- Scale: Switch between linear and logarithmic scales. Log scale is useful when comparing economies with very different sizes.
- Chart Title: Rename the chart to describe your specific analysis.
Step 5: Generate AI Insights
Once you’re viewing data, click the AI Insights button in the right panel to unlock expert-level analysis of your chart.AI Insights are available on Pro and above. Free users see Quick Stats automatically.

Step 6: Save and Share
Save Your Chart
- Click Save Chart in the top toolbar
- Give it a title and optional description
- Add tags to organize by topic (e.g., “inflation”, “BRICS”, “2024”)
- Choose visibility: Private (My Space only) or Publish to the Community Gallery
Share Options
- Private Link: Copy a shareable link from the chart toolbar — anyone with the link can view it
- Publish to Community: Make your chart visible in the public Community Gallery — Pro and above
- Embed: Get an iframe embed code to place the chart on any website
- Export: Download as PNG, SVG, CSV, Excel (Pro+), JSON (Gold+), or PDF (Gold+)
Your First Chart: A Walk-Through
Let’s create a GDP comparison chart step by step:- Search: Type
GDP growthin the search bar with Neural mode selected - Select countries: Click G7 from the economic blocs panel
- Chart type: Select Line Chart (the system will suggest this automatically)
- Date range: Set 2010–2024
- Generate insights: Click AI Insights → Executive Summary to get a written interpretation
- Save: Click Save Chart, title it “G7 GDP Growth 2010-2024”, and save to My Space

Yes — after your initial search, use the Add Indicator button in the settings panel to layer a second or third indicator. Dual-axis charts are automatically configured when the units are different.

Try rephrasing your search in Neural mode — for example, “consumer price index” instead of “inflation.” You can also browse by category in Indicators → Browse Categories or search within the 50+ glossary terms.

Open the chart, click View Details, then click Open in Dashboard. This loads the same indicator and country configuration into a new chart session that you can customize.

Yes — use the Country Comparison feature (Pro and above) to load two country profiles side by side, or use the Macro Screener to rank all countries by any indicator and then open a multi-country chart from the results.
